CHILDBIRTH PREPARATION SERIES (6 WEEKS)
Wednesdays, 6-8 pm
This six-week series of classes is Maui’s most comprehensive childbirth preparation series, taught to over 3000 island families. If you’re looking for a small class environment, this is the class for you. Its “hands-on” style of teaching will keep the learner highly motivated and eagerly awaiting the next class. It is especially designed to foster the development of childbirth preparation techniques. Learn both the Lamaze and Bradley techniques, the latest in pain reduction methods, relaxation training, coping skills with variations of labor, support care and much, much more! Complete training packet provided. Class size is limited to the first 8 paid couples.

"EARLY BIRD" CHILDBIRTH PREPARATION SERIES (6 WEEKS)

This is the same series of childbirth preparation classes, only starting and ending earlier in the evening.

"CHILDBIRTH ESSENTIALS” ONE DAY WORKSHOP
Saturday, 9–4 pm
This one-day workshop is for expectant families that have a demanding work schedule, unable to go to night classes, couples needing a refresher course or where a one-day class is just more convenient. Instruction will be provided by a certified childbirth educator. Couples will also receive guidelines on how to develop the birthing techniques at home. This condensed six hour course (one and a half hour for lunch) will give the participants tools they can choose from for their labor, as well as have a through understanding of the birthing process. Complete training packet provided. Class size limited to the first 10 paid couples.

INFANT CARE - PART ONE "THE FIRST MONTH" (2 WEEKS)
Thursdays, 6 - 8 pm
Topics include the following: Normal Newborn, Coping with Crying, Dr. Karp No Crying Technique, Diapering, Bathing, Layette Supplies. Packet materials included.

INFANT CARE - PART TWO "BEYOND THE FIRST MONTH" (2 WEEKS)

This series focuses on topics relevant to the first year of the baby's life. Topics include: Safety In and Around the Home, Car Seat Safety, Babies and Pets, Infant Illness, Why Breastfeed?, Bottle Feeding, Introducing Solid Foods and even How to Make Your Own Baby Foods!

DOCTOR KARP INFANT CALMING CLASS |
Wednesdays, 5 - 6 pm
Doctor Harvey Karp is a U.C.L.A. pediatrician and inventor of the famous “5 S’s” to calm a crying baby. First time parents list their baby’s crying as the #1 stressor in new parenthood, this technique will give you the skills you need to help your baby stop crying and bring calm back to the home. Handouts included.

BREAST IS BEST (1 CLASS)
Mondays, 5:30 - 8 pm
Breastfeeding is a natural part of the childbearing process but also a learned art. This class will give skills and information, which will enhance success of the nursing family. Nursing fundamentals, problem resolution, feeding positions and latch-on technique are covered, as well as the strategies and equipment needed by the nursing mother returning to work. Special attention is given to the breastfeeding mother returning to work. We will learn how to safely collect and store your milk, when to introduce the bottle, and organizing tips for making this important transition. Breastpumps and supplies will also be demonstrated and can be purchased at the class site.

INFANT CPR (1 CLASS)
Fridays, 6 - 8 pm
This non-certified course will provide expectant parents with the “hands-on” skills necessary to conduct proper CPR techniques for newborns. It is being taught by a certified instructor and is highly recommended to anyone who will be caring for your baby. This includes expectant parents, grandparents, family members and care providers. Handout materials included.
