Nancy Irvine has the distinction of being Maui's most experienced childbirth and new parent educator, providing instruction to thousands of expectant families for the past 30 years.   Nancy is a certified childbirth and new parent educator and holds credentials as a lactation specialist from UCLA.  She began her career as one of the original instructors for the Maui Childbirth program in 1976.  Through the years, she rose to the position of Program Director for the agency and was responsible for the development of all Maui Childbirth classes and workshops, as well as the training of all new instructors.  During that time, she was also the State Representative for International Childbirth Education Association (ICEA).  She stayed with Maui Childbirth for 30 years, until 2005 when she left to become the founder of Valley Isle Childbirth.

Internationally known, she brings her enthusiasm and love for the expectant family into her classes.  She is also one of the featured experts in the award winning DVD "Breastfeeding Basics & Breastfeeding Intensive", along with Dr. William Sears, pediatrician.  Besides her expertise in childbirth education, she also founded "Breastfeeding Services of Maui in 1996.  Now a program of Valley Isle Childbirth, this has served Maui nursing mothers with the highest quality breastfeeding counseling and equipment (see Breastfeeding Services page).  Nancy's belief in providing small, personalized classes has revolutionized prenatal education on Maui.  Her classes are carefully designed to meet the individual needs of her students.

Nancy resides in Olinda, Maui with her husband, Billy (owner of Aloha Honua-Your Upcountry Nursery).  She is a proud mother of two grown sons and a loving grandmother of two beautiful granddaughters.
